Jouyou Kanji Quiz provides you with a quick and easy way to test yourself on your Japanese reading abilities. Focusing on both Kanji and the two Kana writing systems: Hiragana and Katakana. These are broken down to allow you to target the areas where you feel you are weakest, using the same breakdown as the official list from the Japanese Ministry of Education. This list is known as the Jouyou Kanji, or Jōyō Kanji.

Under the kanji testing portion of the app, you are able to test your knowledge of the English meanings of the kanji as well as the various readings for the kanji. These can also be combined so that you can practice both at the same time.

The trial version of this application contains all of the Hiragana and Katakana, however you are limited to the first 150 Kanji out of the 2136 from the full Jouyou Kanji list.

Your progress is saved with every question, so that you can jump in and out of the quiz whenever you have a moment to brush up on your knowledge.
