It’s the first directory app that gives local businesses the opportunity to get onto mobile platforms.The app’s core function is to act as a mobile directory of businesses and amenities in the Kinsale area such as restaurants, pubs, hotels, B&B;’s, doctor surgery’s etc and through constant updated information accurately identify where these properties are located by utilising the benefits of Apple Map technology. Key to the app’s success will be a dedicated ‘route plan’ that will give accurate street-by-street information on how to get to a property from any location in Cork, an ideal tool for the transient tourist. Other interesting items include a ‘Calendar of Annual Events’ , ‘Weekly What’s On’ and a ‘Sightseeing’ a gallery of iconic images of Kinsale.The Kinsale app has been designed to help raise funds toward building a new sports & community centre for Kinsale and the surrounding areas. It has been created by Sáile, local graphic and IT volunteers, students of Kinsale's CoderDojo and is part funded by West Cork Development Partnership. All advertising revenue will go toward the building of Kinsale's Sports & Community Centre (Sáile).About Saile Sports & Community CentreThe Sáile Sports & Community Centre Project is an initiative by the KRD Community Association, a non profit sporting body made up of local people. Our goal is to provide a multi-purpose Sports & Community Centre with year round indoor facilities appealing to all sections of the communities. It will include a Sports/Community/Conference Hall, a gymnasium, a childcare facility, a dance/martial arts/boxing studio, meeting rooms & kitchen. It is being built on a phased basis. Phase 1 our Outdoor facility opened in Oct 2010. We are now fundraising for our indoor centre.
