Kumquat is a simple, straightforward, and slightly citrus-themed way to help you study Mandarin Chinese characters. Select from one of the six HSK levels to flip through a set of interactive flashcards. On the front of the flashcard there's an english definition - use handwriting input* to write the correct Mandarin character(s) in the text field and the app will verify your answer. On the back of the flashcard you can see the Mandarin translation, pinyin, and english definition.

✎ Quiz yourself by writing actual Mandarin Chinese characters

✎ Switch between Simplified and Traditional character sets

✎ Use the arrow to flip to the back if you can't figure it out

✎ Swipe right to skip a card, and swipe left to go back

✎ Start over at any time to reset the flashcard deck.

*if you don't have Chinese character input set up, you can install the Google Pinyin IME from the Play Store and then enable it in your settings (usually under language and input).
