This app uses the latest available orbital data to plot the position over the Earth of KySat-1. KySat-1 has been designed, build and operated by Kentucky Space, and is an orbital spacecraft which will fly as part of the NASA Educational Launch of Nanosatellites, or ELaNA, program, and is manifested as a secondary payload on the Glory climate mission. KySat-1 is approximately four inches square, with a volume of about one quart and weighs no more than 2.2 pounds. It includes a camera to support a scientific outreach program intended for, but not limited to, Kentucky students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The satellite also has a 2.4-gigahertz industrial, scientific and medical band radio, which will be used to test high-bandwidth communications in the license-free portion of the S-band. The satellites will hitch a ride to space with the Taurus rocket's primary payload, NASA's Glory spacecraft. The Glory climate mission, developed by NASA's Science Mission Directorate, will extend the nearly 30-year record of precise measurements of the sun's energy output. This app requires internet access in order to access the orbital data required to calculate the position of the satellite.
