They include picturesque pavilions and medieval long-houses, artillery forts and Gothick follies, clan chiefs’ castles and cotton weavers’ cottages, the homes of great writers and the creations of great architects, from Browning to Boswell, from Pugin to Palladio.All our buildings have comfortable furniture, a well equipped kitchen, modern bathrooms and good quality bed and bath linen. But in other respects they are quite different from the mainstream. Our beds are made with sheets and blankets, most have at least one open fire or stove and none has a television or telephone. Book a Landmark and the entire building and will be yours to enjoy unconstrained.As a charity, The Landmark Trust takes on historic places in danger and carefully and sensitively restores them. By making them available for self-catering holidays, the rental income supports their maintenance, and we make sure they can be enjoyed by all, both today and for future generations.
