PRC is pleased to introduce the second of a series of appsfeaturing the six Stages of Language Development featured in our AAC Language Lab(www.AACLanguageLab.com). The focus of this app is for children who are at theStage Two level of language development. This exciting app will address languageobjectives to help early language learners as well as children with expressive languagedelays who use augmentative and alternative communication methods. The icons forthese core phrases that are introduced throughout the app directly correspond with theUnity language system on the communication devices by the Prentke Romich Companybut can be easily used by all.Prentke Romich Company (PRC) is a member of a consortium of companies that arepioneers in the field of assistive technology and augmentative communication. Use the ‘Learn’ button tointroduce target vocabulary phrases. Random animations with sound effects will play toillustrate different uses of the targeted words. The ‘Practice’ button will direct the childto find a specific target word within the context of a short phrase. The ‘Review’ buttonwill then give a sentence with the target word missing and the child will need to find thecorrect answer. There is a ‘hint’ option if needed at this level.
