Lantern Chess on Android is a client for playing, observing, and chatting on the Internet Chess Club, chessclub.com. ICC is a paid chess server and membership should be purchased or already had before using Lantern.

ICC requires membership to the Internet Chess Club to use this interface(though a user can login as a guest and ask a question to help by typing tell 1 my question).

Tips for using it the first time

There is a menu on every tab. Reconnect is on the Con menu.

If the user gets a tell, hit the f9 button(near typing area on Con tab) to respond.

On the first log-in the user has to type his name and pass in the name and pass fields. The user can save his name and pass in the con menu for next reconnect and these fields will load

Font size can be changed in the con menu. On list view, use the menu to change between lists or view Seek Graph.

If the user moves a channel out of con to chan1 or chan2 tabs then they won't have to type tell (channel number).

There is sound on the board tab menu for users of Ice Cream Sandwich(4.0) or higher of Android. Because of problems with sound for earlier versions of Android, sound will not show on menu for Gingerbread or Honeycomb. If you don't want sound disable it on board tab's menu and it will save the setting.
