This widget displays the current date in roman numerals. This is a fun way of displaying the date as we express it today.

The date is in the format - dd.MM.yyyy which the Romans did not use. Unlike currently used dates, which are numbered sequentially from the beginning of the month, the Romans counted backwards from three fixed points: the Nones, the Ides and the Kalends of the following month.

Other apps are available to display the date exactly as the Romans would have.
