Learning Cards follows the paradigm of index cards used by students of all levels while studying. It allows the creation of “card decks” with questions and answers, in it’s most basic form.

You can create cards that you need to enter answers and have the app check them against the correct answer. It can also create cards that allow you to simply indicate you know the answer for quick study.

In both cases the app will track the cards you correctly or incorrectly answer and it allows you to filter out the cards that were correctly answered.

Another useful feature is the ability to randomly shuffle the cards so they appear in variable order. You can shuffle the deck as often as you want.

The app comes with three small samples which you can use to practice and experiment using the app.

It also has many advanced features. You can add a graphic image to display when showing the card. This can be used for showing images that enhance the learning experience.

Another option is to attach a sound clip to the card. This clip can be a recorded voice with instructions or reading the questions, or a sound related to the question.

If there are web sites that can enhance the card you can include a URL, which then display when the card is displayed. This can also be a web based graphic if you want to display a graphic file from internet rather than using a graphic file on the device itself.

You can create card decks using the built in card editor. You can create cards that you enter answers or simply indicate that you know the answer. Additionally, you can add a sound clip to your cards. Other options include adding a graphic image or include a URL to the internet which will display the content with the card.

You create card decks in a CSV file format and import the file into the app using the Import menu option.

There are many collaboration features of the app. You can export cards decks you have on your app using the export menu option. This will export the card deck in the standard CSV file to the device file system. You can then email the file to someone else or copy to another device.

You can also directly email a card deck to someone else using the email menu option. This will bring you into the local email program on the device and attach the exported CSV file for the card deck.

You can import card decks thru a couple different ways. One is to point to a file on the internet by going to the Import Deck from the Web menu option and navigate to an address of a file exposed on the web.

You can also import a file from the file system by choosing the Import Deck from File. You will be able to navigate thru the file system to the file and touch the file importing the file.

Brown Bench has posted a spreadsheet and a sample CSV which you can download for free, which you can use to create card decks on a PC in the correct format and send to your device to import if you are using the paid for app.

Another interesting option in the paid version is the ability to SMS message cards to other SMS enabled devices. You can study with another person by running the messaging feature sending questions and answers to another device.

The app will run on any android device running 2.1 operating system or higher.
