Handy L.A. Calculator for popular drugs, suited only for the Podiatry / Chiropody professional.

The local anesthetic calculator is designed exclusively for the Android mobile operating system, which quickly and automatically calculates the dose of the most popular local anesthetic drugs.

Designed and programmed solely for the Professional Podiatrist, the idea of this application came from the need to quickly perform sometimes complex maths for working out dosages, whilst performing toe nail surgery; where monitoring patients health, time constraints and multitasking play a vital part in ensuring any dose formulas are performed accurately and safely.

Unlike other android similar apps, this app calculates the dose based on the patients gender, age, weight, choice of anesthetic, concentration percentage of the drug, volume of the drug, and displays the result in mls, mgs and (MSD) Maximum Safe Dose. The application will also visually warn of any high dosage, and any overdose. The application is able to calculate the dose of two drugs, either being the same or different drugs, ideal if an extra dose is required.

The application has the choice of entering the patients weight in kgs or lbs, and automatically displays the weight in equivalent stone and pounds (ideal for British users).

Patient below 18 years old will automatically reflect their suitable weight baselines relevant to gender and age.

The application has the choice of default cartridge amounts of 2.2 or 1.8 mls.

The application is simple and straight forward to use, with everything displayed on a single scrollable android screen, making it quick to find and review the data.
