The 'Map-based Notes' app allows you to create text notes based on your current location or a location that you select on the map. You can later edit or delete these notes if you wish. The best feature of this application is that it allows you to view a list of your saved notes based on your location. You can either view a list of all notes that are within a certain distance from your current location, or you could view all your stored notes by adjusting the distance range to infinity.

In order for the application to be able to determine your current location, you should enable location services in the settings of your Android device. This application will obtain and will periodically update your current location if you check the 'Update location' checkbox. Whenever the current location is updated, a message will be displayed on your screen. Your location is not permanently stored, unless you add a note at the current location or edit a note specifying that its location should be set to the current one. You may edit or delete the specific note whenever you wish, or alternatively you can clear all the data that you have stored.

To clarify, this application stores your notes and their corresponding locations in a local database on your Android device. Under normal circumstances this database is not accessible by other applications UNLESS you have modified your device in a certain way. Despite all efforts to properly develop and thoroughly test this application, it is possible that there are bugs in this software. Therefore you should never store important or sensitive information to this application. Please also keep in mind that this is the first serious application developed by the author and it was done as part of a university project. As such, the likelyhood of bugs is probably above average.
