Given the daily concerns, even your best friends might be out of sight sometimes, so never miss any chance to meet up !

MapContact is a location-based social application that allows you to keep an eye on your friends and family. It shows you, in real time, where they are on a map, and notify you when a friend is close !

It's also useful when you travel with friends, organize any kind of event, get lost with your friends while going out, or if you want to assure your family safety, you can also find your lost phone etc

MapContact shows the nearest places that may be useful for you (Restaurant, hotel, coffee, subway station, bus, train, hospital etc), and allow you to save in your map any other interesting place.

Unlike the other applications, MapContact is very light, simple and efficient, no hard configuration or confusing options, no long sign up, no required Facebook or Foursquare account, no long time loading maps.. Check out yourself !

The application is optimized to save your battery life : No GPS access, no long background tasks, no updates if the user is not moving etc.

Since the privacy is the most concerning issue, your location can be only shared with those friends who invited you through your acceptance. Once you decide to stop sharing your location, just go to "Settings" then "Application Settings" and activate the "Invisible mode" !

How does it work ?

Start with inviting at least one friend to install the application. When it's done, you can see him in "Contacts" Menu.

Press and choose "Add to my friends list" in the contextual menu.

Your friend can find your request in the "Notifications" menu, press to accept. And now it's fun !

You can see him on a map after going to "Friends Network" menu and refreshing.

When you are within a certain distance from a friend (default distance is 2km), the application sends a notification to both of you. You can change this distance in "Settings", then "Application settings".

In "Settings" => "Application settings" you can also activate the "Invisible mode", deactivate notifications or vibration etc.

If you're looking for the nearest restaurant or subway station, just go to "Search".

MapContact can run in background, but if you force stop it, your location can't be updated.
