The idea of Mark D Ball began in 2001 to salvage the falling state of basketball in Otukpo, Benue State. A group of concerned youth came up with the idea seeking a more structured, competitive and organized playing platform. This idea commenced as ‘Save the Game Project’ and later rebranded ‘Mark D Ball’ in 2008 when the Senate President, Senator David A. B. Mark GCON threw his weight behind it as part of his commitment to youth development and empowerment through sports.
