The McKinnon Basketball Association is a not for profit community sporting association, providing people within the cities of Glen Eira, Bayside and Kingston the opportunity to play basketball. The Association consists of six domestic clubs (Jets, Lakers, Magic, Raptors, Saints and Wolves), which compete on a Saturday and Sunday, in both male and female competitions. With over 250 teams competing, the domestic program continues to grow and improve. The McKinnon Basketball Association has also established a strong representative program with 30 teams competing against a range of clubs across Victoria this 2014 season. The Cougars program has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with more teams competing at the highest level. The MBA is an inclusive, community-focused and family-oriented association, constantly striving to provide great opportunities for all members to better their basketball. Providing an introduction to basketball for the youngest through Baby Boomers, Aussie Hoops and Slam Jam, the MBA has provided a clear pathway for all juniors looking to play. McKinnon's All Abilities program has grown immensely, with the Superstars representing McKinnon for the first time last season in VJBL's first Victorian Inclusion League played at the State Basketball Centre on Friday nights. McKinnon Basketball Association also has four strong Big V teams who compete in one of the world’s largest semi-professional basketball leagues. The MBA are excited to announce that our senior men's team have been promoted and will be playing in the State Championship league, in addition to our SCW in Season 2014. Our Youth League Women and Mens teams will again provide a strong link between our junior and senior competitions.
