Meacon does not record your information internally and does not transmit data to any service other than the one you specify.

Why? Many people have written their own self-tracking apps. Meacon removes the overhead associated with this task by giving you the ability to centralize your location data without writing your own app --- all that is needed is a URL to handle the data.
