Measure great circle distances between points on a Bing map with this application. A user can specify 2 or more points on a map and determine the distance between 2 points on the path and the total distance for the entire path. Distances are determined using the Haversine formula.
Map display can be switched to Aerial view.
There are functions to add a pin at the current location, touch the screen to add a pin to any location on the map, delete last location added, reset all pins and calculate distance.
Use the search option to find locations by name or address.
Touch a pushpin to view latitude and longitude. Touch again to hide this info.
New in 1.4: Touch and hold a pushpin to access save and delete options. Saved pushpins are saved with the device and are available on subsequent runs of the program. Saved pins can be added to the map and deleted with a tap and hold.
New in V1.5: Share locations via SMS or email. Send a link either a Google Map or a Bing Map - depending on your recipient.
For users in the US, distances are displayed in feet and miles. For other locales, distances are displayed in meters and km.
Trial is fully functional, but limited to 10 application runs.
Distances are calulated using the Haversine formula.
