Medicare Mapper documents, for the first time, the accumulative hospital resources expended by Medicare in dollars, in-patient days, and admissions, for over 39,000 zip codes across the United States.Medicare Mapper is based on public information made available from the most recent CMS data (2011) file called the Hospital Service Area File. The file represents every Medicare hospital part “A” admission and identifies the geographic nature of patient origins and medical care destinations.
