This is an application designed for physicians and healthcare practitioners to improve care of their patients. The application uses the camera function of the Apple device. It permits the user to add detail about a person ie... name, date of birth, unique account number and then take a photo of an area of interest eg... a dermatological lesion such as a mole. The application overlays the patient account number, date of birth, and a time stamp at the bottom of the image. The user can then further annotate the image with additional text or objects such as arrows and circles, further describing what's in the photo. The application has the added functionality of pushing the images over a local area network, when available, to a computer running software containing an image repository. The images can be accessed later for viewing and comparing to track progress of patient care. The image can be incorporated into the record improving the quality of care.
