Memotion uses the Analytics Power of Beyond Verbal Communications to analyse the emotional content of your diary entry and embed those emotions in the recording forever.

Memotion also has a ‘quick analyse’ feature (voice recorder), so you can analyse anyone speaking at the press of a button and discover the true emotions behind what they were saying.

As well as embedding your emotions in your journal entry, the application also enables you to tag friends, add images and web links, so that whatever inspired your diary entry, will be embedded in a single audio file forever. Standard tags such as weather, your horoscope and new headlines are added too, so your memory will be complete with everything associated with that moment in time.

If you are a user of utter! then it will receive the emotion analysis and become the first ‘Virtual Assistant’ to have the context of its user’s emotional psyche! The future is coming...

It was an important part of the development to ensure that all of the associated diary content was embedded into a single ‘memory file’ (FLAC file). This way, there are no scattered database entries, image files or text documents to worry about and the audio file containing the embedded meta data can be exported and shared with your data preserved.

This application would not have been possible without the use of many open source libraries and code samples, this includes the audio recording and playback visualisation processes and encoding of the files. Please see the about section for the links to these sources. A huge thanks to them.

The application doesn't have to be used as a voice journal (diary), you can also use it as a voice recording tool too. The emotion analysis is requested separately, so you can use it simply as a voice recorder should you wish.

Memotion cannot be described as a lie detector per se, because lying is a cognitive decision. However, the emotion analysis will often be very revealing and you can interpret the results accordingly!
