This app is just a light browser for the web version of Miiverse. This is an unofficial app and it's not related with Nintendo.

Limitation:

The only Miiverse client that supports access to friends and direct messages, is the one for Wii U.

This is a limitation by Nintendo and also applies to the 3DS version.

For any changes/updates of Miiverse service, follow the "Miiverse Announcements" community. The updates regarding the web version affect this app. Most updates won't require an updated app for you to be able to use them.
