The app comes pre-programmed knowing the sound of standard fire/smoke alarm systems usually found in homes, apartment buildings, offices, and public places. To begin, download the app and test it for the smoke/fire alarms sounds, using both the video link we send to you via email as well as activating your own alarm, if you can. Next, customize how you want to be notified of this sound, choosing flash, vibration and third-party notification, including SMS text and push notification (this occurs if the app is open but you’re checking email, for example). Once you've tested the app for smoke alarms, now it's time to record one or more of the following audio-based sounds: - doorbell- landline telephone ringing - oven timer - standard alarm clock buzzer Each time a sound is recorded, you must name that sound. Once you've recorded one of the sounds listed above, you must test the app's ability to detect that sound. We recommend testing that sound between 3 and 5 times and at varying distances.Why?
