How it works:

2. Passenger will check-out automatically for you when you reach your destination.

3. Every trip counts. You collect travel miles and unlock badges as you go.

Passenger tracks your location in the background after you check-in. Note: your location is not tracked if you do not check-in for your trip. On check-out, Passenger stops location tracking.

If you've checked-in and stopped moving, Passenger pauses location tracking to preserve your device's battery power. It then uses geofencing (region monitoring) to detect when you resume your trip and restart location tracking.

Passenger supports all travel modes: flights, driving, public transport, biking and walking.

Battery Use Disclaimer:

Passenger app uses GPS to track your location in the background while you are checked-in. We have made extensive tests with all iOS devices to ensure that battery consumption is minimal while Passenger is tracking your location in the background. However, keep in mind that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
