Phonics Games provides four fun phonics-based games that engage a child in independent play and teach critical kindergarten readiness skills and early reading skills. Each game emphasizes a different English language skill. The character-based flashcards in Phonics Games connect upper and lower case letters recognition with their initial sounds, a precursor reading skill. The Guessing Game reinforces beginning sounds and develops vocabulary. Trace and Learn demonstrates proper letter formation while building fine motor and preliminary handwriting skills. Matching and Memory provides memory skill practice, visual discrimination, upper and lower case letter and beginning sound recognition.

Developed by a licensed preschool and kindergarten teacher, the free Phonics Games app allows a parent to fully evaluate all the features of the four kindergarten readiness games at no cost and to purchase additional features as their child’s skills develop. In the Parent Section, a parent can record his or her praise words, which the app then plays back at random as their child gets the right answer. The high repetition of fundamental concepts throughout all the games is critical to children’s comprehension of the material, and it is particularly beneficial for children with learning disabilities or ESL (English as Second Language) learners.
