Pic-a-Papaya allows Citizen Scientists to submit photographs of papaya plants for the diagnosis and mapping of papaya ringspot virus in Hawaii.

The app also provides instructions for residential users in Honolulu to submit papaya leaf tissue samples for a free GUS test to determine if a papaya plant is genetically engineered (GE).

Free papaya seed samples are available to app users in Honolulu who wish to replace virus-infected or grow non-GE papaya plants.
