This is 'the' unofficial remote for Samsung devices. If both your Windows 8 Device and TV are connected to the same access point, your can link your device with this app over Wifi or over Ethernet, and control your Samsung device using the controls provided.
This application is NOT capable of turning on Samsung devices, this is a limitation from Samsung, who do not allow the turning on of a device through a network connection.

Your Samsung devices need to be connected to the same Network as your Windows 8 device to allow control.
Once you have searched for a devices you need to select and accept the access to your Samsung device (a pop-up will appear on your TV asking for approval)
A full remote screen is provided by default to control connected device(s).
