Prof Miki is designed to help young children aged 4-6 develop a rich understanding of numbers 0–10 and has been designed in a way that promotes logical thinking, problem solving and understanding.To achieve this we have designed 3 platforms, with beautiful graphics, that develop different important aspects of numerical thinking. Each of the platforms consists of 30 levels that gradually increase in difficulty. There is a progression from pictorial to more abstract understanding.Throughout the different levels children develop skills such as counting of objects, number recognition and meaning of number. The important skill of subitizing, which refers to the ability to quickly see patterns of objects, without counting, is promoted throughout all of the levels.In platform two children learn about number relationships as they compare the value of different numbers in term of more and less.The third platform develops children’s understanding that numbers can be made up of different parts.
