For the development of this new security app "Protect Your Kid" (PYK), the concerns and needs of parents with children who use smartphones on a daily basis were carefully recorded and analysed. The result: A easy-to-use and made in Germany Android application that provides a significantly higher level of security for smartphone usage for youngsters.

After entering the "Parental Password" any sections of the smartphone can be blocked and the usage time for each installed app can be individually defined. It is possible to automatically organize thematically similar applications such as games or chat apps into groups. This simplifies the configuration because the allowed time frame does not have to be determined individually for each app. The usage time can either be set for specific times, for example from 15:00 to 16:00 or as a time volume limitation, for example one hour per day, also taking interruptions into account. In addition, PYK can determine whether new apps can be installed or in-app purchases can be made. In the case that a one-off extension of the permitted usage time of an app should be granted, the parents can do this with one simple click without the actual configuration of the smartphone needing to be changed. The following day the original settings are active again.
