Make sure you upgrade your ship to be ready to fight off greedy pirates. During a battle you would have to choose what part of enemy ship to attack and what part of your ship to defend. But be cautious enemy learns your patterns and you have to be unpredictable to be able to sink enemy ship and get your reward.
