R.Shahin Friendship Secondary School started educational services in 1994. Its name is based on Refaiddin Şahin, The State Minister of Turkey of that time.

“Batumi R. Shahin Friendship School-High School, which is a branch of Chaglar Educational Institutions in Georgia, drives its name from Mr. Refaiddin Şahin who was ex-minister of agriculture and also ex- general manager of the youth and sport in Turkey.

Our school, which was opened firstly in 1994, gave the 11th graduates in 2011. Some of our 260 graduates are active in business world and settled down by forming new families as well as some graduates still continuing their academic careers.

Our school registered just 7th class students when it started educational services in the address “Ninoshivili (Kimshiashivili now) 19, Batumi”. In 2004 we opened primary school and from 2004 on, we have been registering students from the 1st grade to the 12th grade and our students graduate and get their diplomas after the 12th grade.

10th March, 2010 was a significant starting point for our school because it was moved to its new campus which has large facilities necessary for education. Our new campus was opened by the president of Georgia, Mr. Mikhail Saakashivili, accompanied by the assistant prime minister of Turkey, Mr. Hayati Yazıcı, and the head of high council of Adjara , the head of the parliament of Adjara, the ministers of education of Georgia and Adjara and other distinguished guests. Mr Saakashivili stated in his speech that “these investments will be the window of Georgia opening to Europe.” We have been continuing our mission regarding this statement as the most important target for us.

In order to enlarge our services in 2011 we opened our kindergarten, which prepares students for the primary school. Secondly, we opened our dormitory for the students from 7th grade to 12th grade to stay after school.
