RC Heli Calc is a set of three calculators for determining gear ratios and the head speed on remote controlled helicopters. Two of the calculators are for electric and one is for nitro powered helicopters. The second electric calculator is dedicated for 2 stage electrics that have a set of keyed gears between the main gear and pinion. The calculators provide all of the information necessary to assist in setting up an electronic speed controller (ESC). The calculator makes customizing your electric helicopter and setting up your Electronic Speed Controller a snap. The program quickly analyzes the gearing combination to provide a gear ratio and then uses the battery "LIPO" and electric Kv motor configuration to determine the head speed. The sliders are used to input all of the variables to provide the estimated head speed and gear ratio. Analyzing new configurations is as easy as moving a slider. All of the inputs are instantly calculated with the results being continuously displayed. The calculator updates the head speed and gear ratio the moment any variable is changed, allowing you to quickly see the optimum setup for your electric helicopter.The electronic speed controller can then be set up by using the throttle curve slider. The slider shows the head speed at the various throttle curve percentages. The days of tediously inputing numbers and then hitting enter to re-calculate are over. The sliders allow all values to be easily and quickly input, with instant results. The "tweak" switch on the MotorKv slider provides for fine adjustments, allowing for easy selection of the motor Kv value. You can also turn the device sideways to maximize the movement of the sliders. The nitro version allows you to determine engine RPM, head speed, and gear ratio. Moving one slider causes the other associated sliders to also move, continuously updating all values.
