The resources are available on stand-alone platforms and on mobile devices. Each resource is free to use and can be used as teaching and learning support material.

The Heat Pumps resource introduces heat pumps technology whereby heat from air, ground or water is used to heat water and space in a domestic setting. The resource includes an introduction to the principles behind heat pumps and refrigeration technology. Users can examine the heat pump equipment in a typical domestic arrangement, using detailed, fully-interactive 3D models of the two types of heat pumps (air source and ground source), heat collectors and exchangers, hot water cylinder, and other elements. Energy flow through the system is presented. The integration of the system into the domestic situation is visualised. Basics of physical installation are presented.
