The Rio Grande Valley is not a valley but a delta or flood plains located on the Mexican-American border of South Texas. The Rio Grande Valley also known locally as the RGV or the Valley is a hidden paradise filled with pristine undeveloped beaches and a modern beach paradise known as South Padre Island or locally as the Island. The RGV is home to many tourist attractions and shopping malls like the Gladys Porter Zoo built in 1971 and known as one of the Top zoos in the nation.

Shopping is a big deal in the valley and for us having almost 3 million people one mall wasn’t enough! Here you can shop at one of our three main indoor malls like the Sunrise Mall in Brownsville, La Plaza Mall in McAllen or the Valle Vista Mall in Harlingen. The city of Brownsville was the only city in the valley that had two major big malls at one point, the Sunrise Mall and the Amigoland Mall but just like in Corpus Christi one mall stole all the business and the other one closed down. But wait! There is more! We also have three Outlet Malls in the valley like The Rio Grande Valley Premium Outlets in Mercedes, Palm Crossings in McAllen and the Sunrise Commons in Brownsville. That’s a total of six Shopping centers not including the smaller malls like El Centro Mall in Pharr and the Majestic Mall, Paseo Plaza Mall in Brownsville.
