BigShot II is a free mock hunting app developed to promote Record Rack, a deer attractant in the Sportman’s Choice line. By employing augmented reality technologies, it allows users to take aim at branded physical targets located in participating sporting goods retailers. After registering via social media, participants are awarded points based on accuracy, speed and distance of their best shot. They are eligible to earn a number of prizes, including a Polaris Ranger ATV as well as various items of hunting-related gear. Top scores are also posted to online leaderboards. The app is part of a promotion which runs from September 1 through November 30, 2014. There are a number of co-sponsors, including Mossy Oak.
