This Recovery Speakers smartphone app is being made available to help people in recovery find quality speaker talks from the past, and the present. The Recovery Speakers audio library formerly “The Midwest Tape Library” is the largest known historic Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) & Al-Anon audio library ever assembled.
The original library consisted of 3,500 reel-to-reel recordings of members who have shared their experience, strength, and hope at AA conventions, conferences, and Roundup’s dating back to the 1940s. We have invested countless hours preserving the old reels and converting many of them into the digital format that you can now enjoy with this app.
This project has required considerable money and our goal is to digitize the remaining 3,000 reel-to-reel tapes with your support. We pray that this project can one day become self-supporting through the contributions of the users. We have decided to set a price of .99 per download in hopes that this will help raise those needed funds.
The App is free and we will always make a limited number of talks available for those who are unable to purchase. We will also continue to make a limited selection of Speaker talks available on our website: www.recoveryspeakers.org
The library has expanded and we are now able to offer talks from more recent years. Because the quality of some of the older talks is poor, we ask that you please accept our apology as we continue to work at enhancing the quality and fixing problems whenever possible.
If you have a comment, concern, or suggestion, please feel free to contact us at customerservice@recoveryspeakers.org
