You can launch loops in tight sync, use Richie’s signature disorientating reverbs and twisted, pitched tape delays to transform the sound and even bring in sounds from any other song; whatever you do, the unique matrix-balanced mastering process means it will always sound like it’s straight off a record.

Richie Hawtin - New Horizons is a continuing series of new music from developing artists, each following their own unique path in the ever-expanding world of electronic music.

Says Hawtin about the New Horizons series: "As a DJ and label owner, I continue to sort through an ever-increasing amount of daily demo submissions, searching for individuality, a singular inspired idea that might fit into my DJ set, or a more developed expression that warrants a full release on the label. Minus' New Horizons series sits somewhere between these two ideas, an evolving collection of new musical expressions released in a timely manner, shortening the timeline between a demos submission, its use in my DJ sets and its release. New Horizons aims to bring each artist the critical feedback that is needed in the early years of musical development and exposes us all to new music and the early potential of next generation artists.
