He earned his black belt in only 4 years of training. Traven was one of the early UFC competitors, fighting in UFC 11 vs. Dave Berry and in UFC 34 vs. Frank Mir.Traven was the 1999 Abu Dhabi open class champion and has taken first place twice in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Traven is currently a 6th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Traven is also a very successful competition team coach in Atlanta, Ga.
