First off let us start by saying it is an extreme honor and privilege to be welcomed into the GMFL. Also we want to thank the highly esteemed owner and commissioner of the GMFL Anthony McCormick and his wonderful board of directors for their time and effort in helping us succeed to this point.

The Rock City Bison organization as an idea began its conception in the winter of 2001. It started with 4 men who’d had enough of the mediocrity and complacency by many of Detroit’s semi-pro football organizations and wanted to see semi-pro football played right and players treated fairly. After working tirelessly to get all our ducks in a row by spring 2001 the idea had to be shelved due to some personal and financial issues faced by many of those involved. Almost a full ten years later in the summer of 2010 with not only Detroit’s semi-pro football losing its competitiveness but the city as a whole had lost its major contender, the automotive industry, The Rock City Bison idea had resurfaced and this time their was no looking back. With Omar Jackson and Lamar Parker leading the way the Bison Organization began to take shape and the idea has come to fruition. Determined to make great use of our organization by building a relationship with Detroit and surrounding communities and building better men through football The Rock City Bison Semi-Pro Football Organization plans to raise eye brows in the GMFL not only on the field off it as well. The Rock City Bison Semi-pro Football Organization is dedicated to building a winner in our first year as a semi-pro football team and as new member of the GMFL. We will be consistent in our teaching of the fundamentals in not only football but life. Our players are not just team members who pay to play they are integral in our growth and development. We will work to build our name and brand by being a staple in the Detroit area and surrounding communities by working within the community through alms-giving and male mentoring. We are more than just a football team we are an organization dedicated to betterment of city and the people that live in it!!!
