A quick tutorial shows you how to manipulate 4D geometric shapes. Rotation4D is a visualization app that renders the six types of convex regular polychora such as the 4D hypercube (tesseract) in real time. Simple gestures can be used to select a polychoron and rotate it in four-dimensional space. The buttons on the screen are to handle images of the polychora and to choose among options for your intuitive understanding of the four-dimensional objects.One-finger GesturesFlick a polychoron currently displayed with one finger and it will rotate in our ordinary three-dimensional space. Tapping the polychoron stops rotation.Two-finger GesturesPinching in and out with two fingers starts rotation between the hidden fourth dimension and the other three dimensions of the four-dimensional space.Three-finger GesturesSwipe the screen of your device upwards or downwards with three fingers to display another type of convex regular polychoron.Action Button at bottom-centerYou can share or save the current image by tapping this icon.COLOR/white (color/WHITE) Button at bottom-leftThis button toggles between colorful and white light. You can choose which will illuminate the polychora.SYNC/unsync (sync/UNSYNC) Button at bottom-rightAppears only if the colorful light is chosen. If you switch this to "SYNC/unsync," the light sources will revolve in synchronization with the rotation of the polychora.MARK/unmark (mark/UNMARK) Button at bottom-rightAppears only if the white light is chosen. If you switch this to "MARK/unmark," one of the cells of each polychoron will be marked in red.
