The POM SCM Calculator computes the optimum values of the decision variables (reorder point, order-up-to level) which are used in standard inventory policies, i.e. the (s,q) policy, the (r,S)-policy, and the (s,S) policy.
Regular as well as erratic demands are supported. For the (s,q) policy, the effect of the undershoot which occurs with non-unit demands (or when demand does not occur on a continuous time axis) is optionally considered.
In addition, sensitivity analysis (what-if analysis) is supported. The implemented algorithms are in accordance with the current state of the art of inventory management.
The typical target user is a supply chain consultant who wants to perform a quick check of his customer's inventory policies. In addition, the app is also very usefull for students of business management and logistics in their home exercises on supply chain management.
