Welcome to the official mobile app of the South Padre Island Sand Sculpture Trail. South Padre Island is the Sand Castle Capital of the Universe! You can come any time of year and see great sand sculptures - both completed pieces and works in progress. Our mobile app is your personal tour guide to the trail on South Padre Island to these fabulous works of art. These sculptures are made of sand and water and thus vulnerable to time and weather, but we strive to keep them (and this site) updated and fresh -- and hope to be adding new pins in the very near future. If you are lucky, you may even see a local sand artist at work. Work on individual sculptures started summer of 2013. Sculptures are treated with a sealant and are expected to last for years.
