A born social worker, 55 year old Shishir Shinde is a senior and experienced leader of Maharashtra NavNirman Sena. An active politician since last many years, Shishir participated in most of the campaigns taken up by the Party since its inception, leading from the front. He is also the Party’s spokesperson, playing an important role in effectively communicating the Party’s ideology and programmes to the media, along with the Party President.

Shishir is also passionate about exercising.

Founder of Aapli Aai and Hindavi Sahakar Sanstha in Mulund,

Shishir was instrumental in starting the first musical jogging track in the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje Udyan in Mulund, Mumbai.

Shishir has always been prompt in helping people whenever they needed health care or support for education, frequently helping needy students with fees, books and notebooks. He has also promoted many libraries in Mulund.

Shishir was with our soldiers during the Kargil war and collected funds to help them.

Knowing how expensive most orthopaedic aids are, Shishir started a bank of such aids, making them available free of cost to the user.

Shishir was also actively involved with the relief and rehabilitation of earthquake victims in Latur and Gujarat, mobilising funds and relief material.

Shishir has had the opportunity to be a people’s representative twice, once as the Corporator from Mulund in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation in the period 1992-97, and then as the member of the State Legislative Council in 1996-2002. Shishir was awarded the Best Legislature Award for his participation in the State Legislative Council.
