Shout to Me is an audio-based community where you can hear and talk to people around you about share-worthy topics such as news, weather and traffic. Shout to Me uses a Siri-like natural language system to understand what you say. For example, you can say things like:• “There’s a traffic accident on 5 South before Del Mar Heights Road” and Shout to Me understands you are reporting a traffic problem.• “It’s raining in Oceanside” and Shout to Me knows you are talking about the weather.• “What’s 15 miles ahead of me?” and Shout to Me will check for conversations up to 15 miles in front of you.MODERATEDShout to Me conversations are monitored both automatically by intelligent systems and manually by humans to ensure the shouts you hear are appropriate, accurate and relevant. In addition to our internal team of content managers, you can help other users around you by saying things like:• “I’m not seeing that problem” when you hear a shout about an accident that’s no longer there.• “Traffic is now backed up to Manchester Avenue” when you have an update to a shout you just heard.NOTEShout to Me uses GPS to find your location both when recording shouts and when deciding which shouts to play. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. To prevent Shout to Me from draining your battery when in the background, either turn the scanner off before closing the app or disable background processing entirely from the Settings page.
