SiS Connect is a simple way to stay connected with your child’s school. Our database is constantly updated by districts, schools and teachers thereby enabling parents and students to get the most current and accurate school information at all times. Our ever growing database has more than 6,000 schools across 48 states in the US thereby making it one of the most comprehensive resources for school data in the country. The iPhone/ iPad app provides a simple Google style search capability to find public schools (and districts) in the US that have signed up to the SchoolInSites service. Users are given an option to add any of the districts or schools found in their search to their favorites. The app presents the current news, upcoming events, staff details, parent information, contact information and a link to the website for each selected district or school. A resources section has been added to help the schools and districts that are not listed in our database to get connected with us to help extend the same facility to their parents and students. The user interface has been designed to make it easy for the user to get to the information they are looking for in no more than 3 clicks. The information presented has been laid out slightly differently on the iPhone and the iPad to make the best use of the form factor of each device type. Through the use of standard iOS capabilities, and through a carefully executed UI scheme, we tried to meet the standard set by Apple to make SiS Connect a simple and a highly usable application that will help parents and students across the nation stay connected with their schools.
