About SingerSen------------------------With her unique voice that spans over three and a half octaves, singer /songwriter and lyricist Sen swings effortlessly from angelic highs to devilishly beguiling lows. She's the Siren of the Orient. At the 14th Voice of Asia International Pop Competition, Sen won the festival's top award, the Special First Award. She scored above the perfect 10 required to earn this award, and since 1992, when Mainland China competitors began performing at the competition, she has been the only Mainland artist to earn this award. She also won the First Place Award at the 10th CCTV Young Singers Competition. Born in China’s North East province of Liaoning, Sen is a natural-born singer. Her first performance was at age 4, followed by appearances at innumerable young singer performances, often performing the lead vocals. She grew up engrossed in music, and later moved to Beijing to pursue her musical dreams. With elements of Kate Bush, Evanescence and Faye Wong, Sens’s music attracted the attention of internationally renowned producer Guy Sigsworth, who has worked with Madonna, Britney Spears, Bjork, and Imogen Heap. Guy agreed to produce tracks for Sen, and they have also written several new songs together. At the same time, Sen formed her own band in China, and began a relationship with cutting-edge Mainland music producer He Qi. Sen's first performance of her original material on September 15th, 2010 at Beijing's Star Live House at the Howling for Nature concert was a stunning success, impressing both music industry professionals and the national media, and establishing her as a signpost for the future of Mainland music. 2011 will see SingerSen and her band performing more live shows in Beijing and at Chinese music festivals Her song “Siren” earned her the top spot on both the China Billboard Chart and Asia Pacific Music: China Billboards. She was also the winner of the 2010 Asia Pacific Billboards Best Cutting-edge Artist Award. Her first EP, Sen – Siren, was released in Mainland China on January 23rd, 2011.
