Skien is a city and a municipality in Telemark. It is also the county's administrative center and largest city. Skien borders in the north to Sauherad and Kongsberg, in the east to Lake Siljan, in the south to Porsgrunn and Bamble, and in the west to Drangedal and Nome, and is part of what is called Grenland.
