This Christmas countdown widget will tell you how many sleeps there are until Christmas day. You get a different festive icon every day and a special message and icon on the big day itself!

Please note that this is a home-screen widget and will not show up with your other app icons. Most Android devices will show you a widget menu by long-pressing on the home screen and selecting the 'widgets' option. Failing that you can find a 'Widgets' tab in your app drawer. Press the 'Sleeps till Christmas' icon in that page and drop the widget onto your home screen wherever you like.

It is worth noting that some Ice Cream Sandwich devices do not show widget icons immediately after install. Instead, they are displayed with the other widgets once the device is rebooted. I understand that this is a commonly reported issue with widgets in general on that version of Android, and that it has been fixed in Jelly Bean.
