Smart Speller Sprint 1 brings more than 100 words from the NJ first grade spelling list to life in fast and fun fashion. Great for any child just starting to learn how to sound out words and spell. HH, an adorable Happy Helper character, hosts the game. He gives directions on how to play, uses each word in a sentence, and provides positive feedback and enthusiastic encouragement for each correct answer. The game provides immediate feedback, comparing the player's selection with the correct answer. At the end of the game, you can review what words were spelled correctly and incorrectly.

Personal note:

I created this fun little app to help prepare a class of first graders for their first spelling bee last year. I saw their scores jump by more than 50% in less than a month of occasional play. An occupational therapist used the game with slightly older learning disadvantaged children who became quickly engaged and challenged.
