If you've had trouble quitting smoking by going "cold turkey", SmokeOut is a simple app which can help you gradually taper down and quit smoking, one day at a time. First, SmokeOut helps you determine your current smoking habits and calculate out how long you usually wait between cigarettes. Then, set SmokeOut's interval timer to gradually increase the gap between cigarettes every day. Press the button each time you smoke, and SmokeOut starts a countdown timer that discretely lets you know when you can have your next cigarette. If you're a heavy smoker, say 2 packs a day, setting the wait time to interval to as small as 1/2 hour between cigarettes will quickly get you down to a pack about half per day. Gradually increase the interval (or let SmokeOut do it for you) and you'll find that you can taper off, one day a time, as you wean yourself from the nicotine habit and quit smoking.

SmokeOut provides a home screen widget so you don't have to launch the app to see how long you should wait before you next cigarette, and sounds a discrete tone when the timer is finished.
