SoundWave Trial (Free) app brings real-time sound data visualization and analysis using just the built-in sound sensor for guided inquiry-based learning and teaching to your Android phone or tablet.
This is a trial preview only for educational purposes that it may be used to help students to practice measuring and analyzing sound or learn about scientific methods with experimental investigation of acoustical phenomena in musical dynamics such as loudness, pitch and timbre, and harmonic tones.
Features:
Measuring and analyzing sound of musical instruments or the human voice:
1. Measure sound data in real-time waveform and spectrum graph
2. Analyze audible sound data with fast and accurate digital audio signal processing for Android
3. View amplitude resultant in dB scale, search peak frequency and more.
Acoustics learning and teaching:
With this SoundWave, teachers can prepare students to practice with designing experimental acoustics, and help to learn how this procedure can bridge the gap between theory and experiment for laboratory and classroom demonstration.
It is not always possible or convenient to schedule real-time acoustics experiments in classroom, and so we urge and help teachers to improve students to easily measure and analyze real sound data in the near or free field with a sound device for Android.
Note:
In this trial preview version it cannot export measurement data and analysis results to a measurement file. The SPL value is not calibrated for loudness level in dBA scale.
Before you use this app, you may need to clear RAM with your Android Task manager to reserve more sufficient memory for active audio signal processing and quantization.
SoundWave Trial app is verified that it is working properly with the Google reference Nexus7 and SAMSUNG Galaxy Note10.1.
