Have you ever started a sentence to your Spouse with the words “I bet you that …..?” Most of us have, but what is the prize?

Betting is normally related to a cash prize but what is the point if you have shared financial accounts and family responsibilities to consider. If you bet your Spouse $20, do you actually expect to receive the money?

To turn a mundane bet into something worth cheering for, start with “I Spousebet you that ........”

Use social media to brag / lament your wins and losses, and have some fun with it. One rule though: Your Spouse's dignity is more valuable than likes, shares or re-tweets, so be sensible.

How to play Spousebet:

1. Assign your names to Red or Blue teams (boxing corner colours).

2. Type in the 'Bet' (Example: West Coast Eagles to beat Fremantle Dockers, AFL Round 3, 2015).

3. Select a prize category (as agreed between the parties)

* Children's Chores

* Domestic Duties

* Health & Wellness

* Social Engagements

* Intimate Encounters (upgraded version)

* Sexual Pleasures (upgraded version)

4. Spin the Wheel, and a prize will appear. Determine if the parties agree on the prize.

5. If 'No Deal' then Spin Again. I suggest that if there is no agreement after three spins, then change category, however that is your call. If a prize appears that does not suit your personal circumstances ie. Loser shall walk the dog everyday for a week, and you actually don't have a dog, then simply spin again.

6. Once the parties agree on the winner's prize (what the Loser shall do), select 'Deal'.

7. Assign an expiry date for the bet.

Once a winner is determined, open the bet from the In-Progress list, assign the winner and remind the loser of his or her payout responsibilities.

Spousebet also holds basic statistics to keep track of win / loss ratios, wins by category, and cancelled bets. Some may wish to bet on who wins the most bets in a year, with an Intimate Encounter up for grabs :)

People without spouses, but with teenage children or housemates can play also, by being selective on their category choice, such as Domestic Duties, which is in the free version.
